HOME / Treatment
At North Carolina Physical Therapy, we specialize in treating what others might overlook—and we truly listen. Whether you're navigating Lipedema, Lymphedema, or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), we know how isolating and frustrating it can be to live with a condition that's often misunderstood. This is a safe space where your story matters. We take our time to hear you, dig deep into your medical history, and approach your care holistically. Our mission is to empower you—not just with hands-on treatment, but with education, tools, and ongoing support for long-term success. You are not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
Our philosophy is simple: serve up the T.E.A.—Treatment, Education, and Advocacy. We deliver expert care, break down complex health info into bite-sized clarity, and go to bat for you when it matters most. Because real healing happens when you’re treated, taught, and truly heard
Your journey with us starts with a deep dive into you. During your first visit, we take our time—evaluations last 60 to 90 minutes to ensure we fully understand your body, your history, and your goals. You’ll complete intake paperwork that covers your medical and surgical history, medications, supplements, and current functional limitations. We also conduct a SOZO bioimpedance scan with L-Dex to assess fluid retention and lymphatic function. From there, we explore everything from hereditary and genetic patterns to nutrition, mobility, pain points, and tissue quality—yes, we actually touch and feel the body to find what others may have missed.
Please wear stretchy or loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes with a supportive sole, as we may perform movement or exercise-based tests.
At the end of your evaluation, your Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) will share their clinical findings and present a personalized Plan Of Care (POC) tailored specifically to your current needs. Our goal is to address your primary issues within the first 6 weeks, including pain, swelling, or discomfort. From there, we shift to a lower-frequency maintenance phase. Throughout the process, we focus on teaching you the tools and strategies to manage your condition long-term, so you can feel confident and in control of your health..
