HOME / LYMPHEDEMA
It can develop following surgery, radiation, trauma, or infection, or arise gradually from genetic or vascular conditions like chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). Some individuals are born with a predisposition for lymphatic dysfunction (primary lymphedema), while others develop symptoms later in life (secondary lymphedema). In many cases, the root cause is unclear - but the experience is very real.
Lymphedema often involves tightness, heaviness, aching, or visible swelling in one or more limbs. Left unaddressed, it can progress to cause skin changes, reduced mobility, fibrotic tissue thickening, and recurrent infections. Despite its impact, Lymphedema is frequently underdiagnosed, poorly explained, or dismissed altogether, leaving many patients without the education, tools, or support they need. We offer specialized, evidence-informed care for individuals with lymphedema, including those with overlapping conditions such as Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) or Lipedema.
We conduct a thorough review of your medical and surgical history, symptom progression, previous treatment (if any), and current functional impact. We analyze visible swelling patterns, assess tissue quality and pitting behavior and help determine whether coexisting fluid conditions may be contributing. We may recommend follow-up a SOZO Bioimpedance Scan to measure body composition, lymphatic load, and extracellular fluid, which can be used to track changes over time.
We have several different treatment programs available, depending on the significance of your swelling, past experience of lymphatic therapy, and current needs and goals. In each of them, we offer the following:
We teach effective self-lymphatic techniques and daily routines to promote fluid movement at home. If hands-on care is needed, we’ll help you
connect with trusted providers in your area.
We help you access the right compression tools — from custom garments to pneumatic compression pumps — and provide support with
insurance paperwork, brand coordination, and referrals for measurement fittings.
We also host in-clinic Measurement & Pump Demonstration Days with DME partners to ensure a quality fit and confident use of your equipment.
Gentle, lymph-safe movement routines help improve circulation, reduce stiffness, and rebuild functional strength — especially if swelling has
limited your mobility. Many patients begin to feel more stable, energized, and at ease in their daily activities.
Learn sustainable strategies to support lymphatic health, including high-protein nutrition to aid fluid balance and tissue repair, anti-inflammatory
meal planning, skin care routines, and symptom tracking. All guidance is weight-neutral, practical, and tailored to your lifestyle.
For those who want objective insight into their progress, we offer in-person SOZO Bioimpedance Scans once per month.
These quick, non-invasive scans track fluid levels and tissue changes, helping you fine-tune your plan over time.
Whether it’s slipping into your favorite shoes, wearing rings without discomfort, or finally enjoying clothes that fit comfortably again — we’re here to help you get there. Our focus is on helping you feel like yourself again, with a plan that puts you back in control.
